Need an Election Day Distraction? Check Out These 'Day of the Dog' Cuties!

Very good dogs of Instagram (L-R: @wowdogbox, @Tobythegentleman, @srptshering)

Did you mail in your ballot correctly? If not, where is your nearest polling station? Have you made sure your friends are voting? Have you been to the polls yet? Are you standing in line at one RIGHT NOW? Where's the best place to watch the results anyway?

The midterms are stressing a lot of Americans the hell out today. Many Hindus all over the world, on the other hand, are celebrating day two of the festival of Tihar. If you're not Hindu, you might be asking, "Say what now?" Well, Kukur Tihar breaks down like this:

  • Day 1: Crow festival
  • Day 2: Dog festival
  • Day 3: Cow festival
  • Day 4: Ox festival
  • Day 5: Bhai Tika, on which human siblings honor one another.

Let's take a moment to be in awe of the fact that Hinduism has an entire day to honor dogs (why is this not a thing in all religions?) and that it just happens to be today, of all days. Then, soothe all of your election stress with these very good dogs.
