The 826 Valencia Tenderloin Center

826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.

Its services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

This year, KQED partnered with 826 Valencia to bring student voices from their podcasting program to our airwaves. Visiting classes produce audio narratives for the 826 Valencia series, Message in a Bottle.
