For Filipino-Americans, pop hits like Debbie Deb's "Lookout Weekend" became a kind of cultural soundtrack. They were remixed by a generation of Filipino-American DJs, and played at gatherings like parties, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and dances. The new book "Legions of Boom" describes how that music scene led to the emergence of some internationally famous DJs.
