The Blue Cut fire is burning in the Cajon Pass – in the San Bernardino National Forest, where urban sprawl gives way to majestic mountain vistas and eventually the high desert. It's a vital freight corridor between the ports of L.A. and the rest of the U.S. All that came to a halt because of the shutdown of a major Interstate highway.
