A white person with long pink fingernails holds the Bay Curious book in front of a rainbow colored well. The book features doodles of San Francisco imagery, like the Golden Gate Bridge, a fortune cookie, a person raising a hand in a black power salute and a Mai Tai.

In May, Bay Curious published the book Bay Curious: Exploring the Hidden True Stories of the San Francisco Bay Area. It brings a fresh eye to some of our most popular pieces and covers brand-new, never-before-heard stories researched for the book.

To celebrate, we hosted an epic variety show at KQED’s headquarters. Host Olivia Allen-Price also went on KQED Forum to talk about how Bay Curious got its start and what’s in the new book. Perhaps most fun of all, we played trivia with call-in guests on the show.

We had so much fun taping this segment that we really wanted to share it with you. So this week on Bay Curious, we’re sharing a condensed version of that KQED Forum program.

If you enjoy the conversation, check out the KQED Forum podcast feed for lots of fascinating, relevant conversations about the Bay Area and beyond. Olivia was also recently on the podcast East Bay Yesterday focusing on some of the East Bay stories in the book. You can find that over on the East Bay Yesterday podcast feed.
