The Trump administration’s offshore drilling plans are on hold, thanks to a federal judge and intense community opposition.
The administration has been planning to open up over 90% of all federal waters to oil and gas exploration.
After U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason issued a ruling that reinstated Obama-era offshore drilling bans in the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, recently confirmed Interior Secretary David Bernhardt said the court process “may be discombobulating to our plan.”
The next time I’m lucky enough to be surfing while looking out at an untainted horizon, the word “discombobulating” will no doubt pop into my head.
Enjoy the weekend!
