Forty percent of California’s law enforcement agencies aren’t complying with the state’s sanctuary law, according to a report released today.
The report released by a group of legal advocates also found that since the sanctuary law took effect, immigration arrests at local jails are down by 41 percent, which is huge.
But it appears that an immigrant getting out of jail in California is liable to have a very different experience, depending on the county.
SB 54 in practice looks to me more like a sanctuary-ish law.
