Scientists say the Trump administration is rushing scientific analysis that will help decide how much water can be pumped out of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.

My first question is, “what’s so bad about rushing the science?”

Isn’t more science, faster, a good thing?

It turns out federal scientists say they just don’t have the staff to complete the analysis properly, let alone at a faster rate.

So that hurry-up-and-decide pressure may force scientists to take shortcuts and complete their analysis by the appointed hour.

I love to draw underwater scenes featuring salmon and smelt, here’s hoping my cartoons aren’t the only place they exist in a few years time.
