The San Jose City Council approved a $100 million sale of public land to Google as the tech giant continues to expand its Silicon Valley footprint.

This deal comes on the heels of Google's purchase of a sprawling Mountain View office park for $1 billion (yes, billion) just last month.

According to the Bay Area News Group, the amount Google is spending to buy property in Mountain View, Sunnyvale and San Jose over the past two years is around $3 billion dollars.
