This week, we’re devoting our entire show to an investigation into the fires that swept through Northern California’s wine country last fall.

KQED reporters Lisa Pickoff-White, Sukey Lewis, and Marisa Lagos have reconstructed what happened the night the fires broke out by listening to thousands of 911 calls and dispatch recordings, and interviewing dozens of first responders, residents and state officials.

We bring you a sound-rich narrative of how the night of October 8, 2017 unfolded, through those 911 calls and the powerful testimonies of fire survivors. This half-hour special is produced in collaboration with Reveal, from the Center for Investigative Reporting/PRX.
