When it comes to tipping in restaurants, a recent survey from CreditCards.com finds that 4 out of 5 Americans always give a tip. Tipping, in theory, rewards good service with a small gift of extra payment. But these days gratuities seem more expected than optional and opinions differ widely about whom and how much to tip.
