A Statement From KQED on Our Recent Outage

KQED observed suspicious activity late Thursday afternoon on several computers on the IT network.  We took immediate measures to shut down the network and minimize the impact. Our broadcast operations, TV and radio, were not affected and we have been on the air without interruption.

We had an outage on the radio live stream from Thursday evening to 9:30am Friday morning. This was the only issue that temporarily interrupted normal service to the public.  As a member-supported organization it is important to know that member data has not been affected.

KQED is investigating the issue and working to restore all IT services.  We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
