This is a development site that the Port wished to have this happen. We're going to play ball.\"\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The project is expected to break ground in 2015, with four stages of construction to be completed in 2021. (AP) Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer glanced at the stat sheet and gushed as she examined Amber Orrange’s solid all-around game.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“She played like a senior, forget freshman,” the Hall of Famer said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Orrange had 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists to lead the top-seeded Cardinal to a 72-55 victory over West Virginia in the second round of the women’s NCAA tournament on Monday night.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“She was doing stuff, just under control. What, five assists? How many turnovers did she have? No turnovers, against that?” VanDerveer said, referencing West Virginia’s physical defense. “She was a player. She wasn’t a freshman. Nothing was holding her back today.”\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Orrange was aggressive from the outset, scoring eight of the Cardinal’s first 12 points, and had 12 by halftime. She set career highs for points and rebounds, but said she was merely taking what she was given. \u003c!--more-->\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>[ad fullwidth]\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Oh, and she wanted to show the Mountaineers that she could handle their physical play, too.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“We knew coming in that they wanted to be physical, but we also wanted to make the first punch before they could hit us first, and I think we did that,” Orrange said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Nnemkadi Ogwumike added 16 points and Chiney Ogwumike finished with 13 for the top-seeded Cardinal (33-1), who easily stretched their school-record winning streak to 30.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Stanford put together a 17-0 run to take a 33-12 lead, and the advantage never dipped below 16 again. Orrange responded with consecutive baskets when Nnemkadi Ogwumike went to the bench with two fouls in the middle of the game-changing run.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“I call her my little knife,” Nnemkadi Ogwumike said, laughing at herself while praising Orrange. “She slices and dices.”\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Ayana Dunning led the Mountaineers (24-10) with 14 points and Asya Buassie had 11, but West Virginia shot just 31 percent.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“When they started scoring, our girls started pressing on offense,” Mountaineers coach Mike Carey said. “We started taking some shots we shouldn’t take.”\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Cardinal were leading 16-12 when Nnemkadi Ogwumike’s two free throws sparked the 17-0 blitz. West Virginia went more than six minutes without scoring and trailed 33-14 after Dunning finally broke the drought with a 15-foot jumper 5:01 before halftime.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The only bright spot for the Mountaineers during the big run occurred when Nnemkadi Ogwumike, a national player of the year contender, picked up her second foul and went to the bench. But Orrange made a jumper and a driving layup on the next two possessions for the Cardinal, who led 38-21 at halftime.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Mountaineers’ plan to slow down the Ogwumike sisters might have been effective, guard Christal Caldwell said, had Orrange not caught them off guard.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>“It made her have to be a lot more aggressive,” Caldwell said.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Ogwumike went back to the bench after drawing her third foul with 16:08 to play and the Cardinal ahead 44-26. Ogwumike’s absence slowed Stanford’s offense, but West Virginia still struggled to score. The Mountaineers missed 10 of their first 12 shots after halftime, including several open looks, and finished 4 for 18 on 3-pointers.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Stanford’s bid for a fifth straight trip to the Final Four now moves on to the Fresno Regional, where it will face South Carolina on Saturday. Just the way South Florida likes it.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls introduced the NCAA tournament to the Big East's nastiest defense Wednesday night, putting more than just a chill into a California team that had never seen anything like it. The Bulls allowed only 13 points in the first half and brushed their way to a 65-54 victory.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>South Florida (21-13) will play No. 5 seed Temple in Nashville on Friday, a matchup of teams known for gritty defense. Few have been better than this one for the first 20 minutes on the NCAA stage.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls swarmed 'em, bumped em' and swatted their shots away - those that weren't air balls, that is.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>California (24-10) didn't score over the last 8:55 of the first half, missing 10 shots and turning it over twice while South Florida pulled ahead 36-13.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>[ad fullwidth]\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Guard Jorge Gutierrez, the Pac-12 player of the year, was held to 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>It wasn't all defense that got it done for South Florida. Freshman point guard Anthony Collins, a thin-built player with a youthful face that reminds coach Stan Heath of a 12-year-old kid, played like a star in his first NCAA tournament game, scoring 12 points. Victor Rudd had 15 points. \u003c!--more-->\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Golden Bears won't soon forget the way they got worked over. They must have felt as if there were six Bulls on the floor at times playing defense.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>No, only five. The refs counted.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls set a Big East record by giving up only 56.9 points per game this season. Their problem: They score about as many points as they give up. South Florida didn't have a player average in double figures for the season.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Realizing he didn't have many scoring options, Heath instituted the defense-first, defense-last philosophy that got them to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 20 years and, now, their first win. The Bulls came in 0-2 in the tournament.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Other teams exult when one of their players hits a big basket. The Bulls cheer from the bench as the other team passes the ball around helplessly and hopelessly.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>They were cheering their defense from the opening tip.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The first time down the court, Gutierrez forced a running shot that was too hard, a taste of the misery ahead. California missed its first five shots and eight of its first nine, helping South Florida pull ahead 15-3.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Collins made a driving layup, a floater, a 15-foot pull-up jumper and a layup off his steal during the opening run, getting South Florida's unpredictable offense moving.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Golden Bears readily acknowledged that they hadn't played anything quite like the Bulls' defense. With four players averaging in double figures, their best chance was to spread the ball around and be patient.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>They ran out of patience real fast, prompting coach Mike Montgomery to call a timeout to get his team settled down. Instead, things quickly got worse.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>A lot worse.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Gutierrez hit a fade-away 15-foot jumper with 8:56 left in the first half. The Golden Bears wouldn't score again before halftime, with South Florida pulling off a 14-0 run. It ended with a telling moment: California guard Justin Cobbs dribbling toward the basket and failing to even attempt a shot before the buzzer sounded.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Totally discombobulated.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Golden Bears shuffled toward the locker room with blanks expressions. Their 13 points matched the seventh-fewest in an opening half since the NCAA tournament expanded in 1985, according to STATS LLC.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls pulled ahead 57-25 with 8:49 left. Just the way South Florida likes it.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls introduced the NCAA tournament to the Big East's nastiest defense Wednesday night, putting more than just a chill into a California team that had never seen anything like it. The Bulls allowed only 13 points in the first half and brushed their way to a 65-54 victory.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>South Florida (21-13) will play No. 5 seed Temple in Nashville on Friday, a matchup of teams known for gritty defense. Few have been better than this one for the first 20 minutes on the NCAA stage.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls swarmed 'em, bumped em' and swatted their shots away - those that weren't air balls, that is.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>California (24-10) didn't score over the last 8:55 of the first half, missing 10 shots and turning it over twice while South Florida pulled ahead 36-13.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\u003c/p>\u003c/div>",

Freshman point guard Anthony Collins, a thin-built player with a youthful face that reminds coach Stan Heath of a 12-year-old kid, played like a star in his first NCAA tournament game, scoring 12 points. Victor Rudd had 15 points. \u003c!--more-->\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Golden Bears won't soon forget the way they got worked over. They must have felt as if there were six Bulls on the floor at times playing defense.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>No, only five. The refs counted.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls set a Big East record by giving up only 56.9 points per game this season. Their problem: They score about as many points as they give up. South Florida didn't have a player average in double figures for the season.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Realizing he didn't have many scoring options, Heath instituted the defense-first, defense-last philosophy that got them to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 20 years and, now, their first win. The Bulls came in 0-2 in the tournament.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Other teams exult when one of their players hits a big basket. The Bulls cheer from the bench as the other team passes the ball around helplessly and hopelessly.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>They were cheering their defense from the opening tip.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The first time down the court, Gutierrez forced a running shot that was too hard, a taste of the misery ahead. California missed its first five shots and eight of its first nine, helping South Florida pull ahead 15-3.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Collins made a driving layup, a floater, a 15-foot pull-up jumper and a layup off his steal during the opening run, getting South Florida's unpredictable offense moving.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Golden Bears readily acknowledged that they hadn't played anything quite like the Bulls' defense. With four players averaging in double figures, their best chance was to spread the ball around and be patient.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>They ran out of patience real fast, prompting coach Mike Montgomery to call a timeout to get his team settled down. Instead, things quickly got worse.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>A lot worse.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Gutierrez hit a fade-away 15-foot jumper with 8:56 left in the first half. The Golden Bears wouldn't score again before halftime, with South Florida pulling off a 14-0 run. It ended with a telling moment: California guard Justin Cobbs dribbling toward the basket and failing to even attempt a shot before the buzzer sounded.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Totally discombobulated.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Golden Bears shuffled toward the locker room with blanks expressions. Their 13 points matched the seventh-fewest in an opening half since the NCAA tournament expanded in 1985, according to STATS LLC.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The Bulls pulled ahead 57-25 with 8:49 left. The only question was how low they could keep the sore. California fouled repeatedly in the final minute, giving itself enough chances to hit the 50-point mark.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003c/div>\u003c/p>",

The remaining races in the America's Cup match will be on cable on NBC Sports Network.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The deal is big for regatta organizers who hope to showcase the modernized America's Cup to mainstream fans. Racing will be on a short course close to shore rather than miles out to sea, and in fast, wing-sailed catamarans rather than plodding sloops. \u003c/p>\n\u003cp>With the exception of ABC showing Race 1 of the 1992 America's Cup in San Diego, every other race shown live since the epic Race 7 in 1983 has been on cable. \u003c!--more-->\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>\"It's fantastic because it's obviously mainstream TV and a lot of people are going to see the racing as a result,\" said Russell Coutts, who sailed undefeated through three straight America's Cup matches as a skipper for two different countries, and added a fourth title in 2010 as CEO of Oracle Racing. \"Frankly, I think it's the best TV result for sailing, certainly in my experience with the America's Cup. This is going to be great for sailing and really, really good for the America's Cup.\"\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>[ad fullwidth]\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The NBC Sports Group also acquired rights to the Louis Vuitton Cup in the summer of 2013 in San Francisco, which will determine which foreign syndicate meets Oracle Racing, owned by Silicon Valley maverick Larry Ellison, for the oldest trophy in international sports.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Richard Worth, the chairman of the America's Cup Event Authority, said NBC will televise the final day of racing from three stops on the America's Cup World Series this summer as well as the opening two races of the 34th America's Cup match on Sept. 7 and 8, 2013.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>NBC Sports Group is not paying a rights fee. Worth said America's Cup officials will acquire air time and offer commercial time first to their own sponsors.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>The biggest risk in televising the America's Cup is the capriciousness of the weather. Delays because of too much wind, not enough wind or wildly shifting breezes can easily mess up broadcast schedules. Organizers believe they've largely avoided that problem by switching to catamarans that can sail in a wide range of conditions. Races have been shortened to better fit into TV time slots and will be sailed close to shore.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>Worth said the final races in ACWS stops in Plymouth, England, and San Diego last fall proved that organizers can provide racing on schedule even in brisk conditions that sometimes had boats sailing on edge, with an occasional capsize.\u003c/p>\n\u003cp>he ACWS is being contested in 45-foot catamarans with high-tech wings as mainsails.
