The Boombox Collection: Boots Riley is part of The Boombox Collection, a series of short documentaries about the working class pioneers of hip-hop.

Boots Riley, frontman of the politically radical hip-hop group, “The Coup”, takes us on a drive through Oakland, and reflects on his music, his future, and his relentless revolt against capitalism.

Mohammad Gorjestani | Director

Mohammad is an Iranian-American filmmaker, featured as one of Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film. His works have played festivals worldwide, and have been featured by VICE, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and Vimeo Staff Picks. His films have won the Tribeca X Award, Webby Awards, and he recently received the SFFILM Rainin Filmmaking Award for a feature film in development.
