
Katie Kriscunas
Katie Kriscunas is an Environmental Science teacher at Aptos High School in Aptos, California. She has been teaching high school science since 2010, and her adaptability and innovation has earned her recognition and extensive professional development opportunities. Katie actively seeks to collaborate with various scientific organizations and educators to improve students’ engagement and achievement in the sciences. She has worked as a Teacher Fellow for the University of California Santa Cruz COSMOS Program and the University of Florida’s Great American Biotic Interchange Research Experience for Teachers. Katie has been eagerly exploring and integrating the Next Generation Science Standards into her curriculum for the past five years. This year Katie will serve as a Tech Liaison and Secondary Science Teacher Lead for her district where she will collaborate with local educators to develop relevant curriculum and an effective plan for K-12 NGSS implementation.
