A San Francisco native, Ben Van Houten co-founded TheBayBridged.com in January 2006 and has served as the site's Content Editor since its inception. In this capacity, he co-hosts and co-produces the site's acclaimed weekly podcast, oversees and contributes to its daily blog, and helps book the Bay Bridged Presents series of concerts. In just two years, sources as varied as the SF Weekly, KALW and the San Francisco Chronicle have recognized the site as the leading source for news and interviews with San Francisco's best undiscovered and up-and-coming musicians.Ben has had a longtime love for noncommercial radio and independent music journalism. While a student at UC Berkeley, he was a news anchor and writer for KALX's morning news; while at Columbia Law School, he created, hosted and produced a weekly music and talk show on WBAR. Until recently, Ben was a securities litigator in the San Francisco office of a prominent international law firm, a practice he left to pursue other legal and artistic interests.
