The arc of Lyndon Baines Johnson's life is a version of the American dream: the poor boy from the backwaters of the Texas hill country who ascended to the very pinnacle of power - only to see his presidency undermined by the conflict in Vietnam, a war he supported and expanded but never understood. One of the most perplexing, astute and larger-than-life politicians in modern American history, LBJ set out to "out-Kennedy the Kennedys" by pushing through historic social legislation on a scale that rivaled FDR. Big, brash, intimidating and driven by an all-consuming ambition, Johnson dominated people and institutions. Part 2 of 2.

The prairies may look still, but everything here is in motion--by day and by night, above ground and below. Explorer Ariel Waldman follows nature's rhythms from fireflies flashing at dusk and woodrats working in the dark to cicadas emerging after years underground. In prairie woodlands and grasslands, pollinators keep wildflowers blooming while ancient rocks shelter microscopic life and preserve echoes of vanished seas. This living mosaic reveals both the prairie?s extraordinary resilience--and the growing urgency to protect the space it needs to thrive.

Despite the assassinations of four US presidents (Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, Kennedy), the in-office deaths of four (Harrison, Taylor, Harding, FDR), the wounding of two (T. Roosevelt, Reagan) and attempts on the lives of several others, before 1963, the unthinkable was unaddressed in the US Constitution. For the first two hundred years of America's democracy, it was not a foregone conclusion that the vice president would step in to replace the president in times of crisis. The office itself has been an afterthought, a punchline, and an Achilles heel for the president. But vice presidents of the United States have also acted as stabilizers, tiebreakers and architects of critical policy despite the office being described by one disgruntled VP as "not worth a bucket of warm spit." So what happens when the President of the United States can't fulfill their duties due to death, illness or incapacity? In this one-hour film, The American Vice President, we will focus in on the fraught period between 1963 and 1976 when a grief-stricken, then scandal stricken America was forced to confront the purpose of the vice president and the succession process through the evolution of the 25th amendment.

Narrated and hosted by the late actor Graham Greene, THE WAR THAT MADE AMERICA brings to life a vastly important time in American history, when events set forces in motion that would culminate in the American Revolution. The four-part dramatic documentary tells the story of the French and Indian War (1754-1763), which began in the wilderness of the Pennsylvania frontier and spread throughout the colonies, into Canada, and ultimately around the world. The series offers a compelling portrayal of the dangerous 18th century frontier and follows a brash and ambitious young George Washington, hoping to make his reputation in the military - and whose blunders inadvertently triggered the war. THE WAR THAT MADE AMERICA also focuses on the critical military importance and strategic diplomacy of Native Americans in the conflict between the English and French.
