Taylor Swift and the Smiths: not an obvious pairing, but the more you think about it, the more perfect it seems. Ryan Adams, moody folk rocker and former husband of Mandy Moore, took to Instagram recently to announce that he is recording covers of Swift's latest album 1989, but with a  sad/surly Smiths bent. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22 really into this idea!

Someone else who's digging it: Tay, who reacted to the news with zero chill.

On his Instagram, Ryan Adams wrote: "Guaranteed saddest version of Welcome to New York ever - or your tears back." That's a pretty solid return policy.
