Election officials around the state are still tallying the final votes from last week's local and statewide races. But one thing is clear: it was an expensive election, especially for the two corporations that failed to get voters to approve ballot measures they sponsored. A bill in the state legislature would allow shareholders to get a refund when corporations sponsor such measures in the future.
