New Protections in Foreclosure Debated
This week, the state Assembly will debate a bill to give more protections to Californians whose homes fall into foreclosure. The bill would prevent lenders from going after borrowers for the full amount of loans if their property values are underwater.
State-Approved Fireworks Go On Sale Today
State-approved fireworks go on sale beginning today in jurisdictions that allow them. In California, the state fire marshal's office determines which fireworks are legal. The "safe and sane" varieties -- that don't fly or explode -- carry a state seal.
