Court Says Public Universities May Enforce Non-Discrimination Policies
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a law school in the University of California system can deny recognition to a student club that excludes gay people, or anyone who refuses to sign on to the group's religious beliefs.
'Healthy San Francisco' Upheld
The Supreme Court also put an end to a four-year legal challenge to San Francisco's universal health care program. The court denied an appeal from a local business group that was challenging the program's employer spending requirement.
