It appears Central Coast voters gave their open state Senate seat to state Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee last night, which would maintain the status quo in Sacramento in terms of the balance of Republicans and Democrats.
Counties Creating Least Revenue Use Most Services
A familiar political standoff is under way in Sacramento. As Republicans push spending cuts to balance the state budget, Democrats say the budget can't possibly be balanced without more state revenue. And the counties that contribute the most to tax coffers are the ones which get the least return in services.
