On his final day in office Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger halved the prison sentence of Esteban Nunez, the son of former Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez. Now the family of the college student killed during a confrontation Esteban Nunez participated in is suing the former governor.
Larynx Transplant Restores Woman's Voice
A Modesto woman is speaking and breathing on her own after an extraordinary surgery at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Surgeons there replaced the woman's voicebox, thyroid gland and trachea. It's believed to be only the second human larynx transplant in the world.
