Governor Jerry Brown's latest budget proposal cuts UC & CSU spending by a combined $1 billion, and the governor wants $11 billion in tax extensions approved by voters to, in part, avoid more cuts to K-12 schools. Students and teachers throughout the state are holding rallies and teach-ins today, to call attention to the budget issues.
