The powerful board that will oversee California's new health insurance exchange meets for the first time in Sacramento today. The exchange is a centerpiece of federal health insurance reform -- it's expected to broker health coverage for four million people when it begins operations in 2014.
Food Producers Caught in the Middle
The costs of commodities like corn, wheat and soybeans -- and the costs of fuel to bring them to market -- are on the rise. Consumer food prices are rising too, but at a slower rate: only 1.5 percent last year. The difference is being absorbed by food producers, retailers and restaurants that don't want to drive customers away with steeper prices.
