"Tales of the City: A New Musical" has just opened at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. It's based on Armistead Maupin's much-loved 1977 novel, and the first of its many sequels. It's a story of sexual liberation gay and straight, and the clash of values between bohemian and old money San Francisco.
