Calif. Food Safety Standards May Inform National Reforms
It's been nearly five years since a deadly E. coli outbreak linked to fresh spinach from the Salinas Valley killed three people and sickened roughly 200. That outbreak prompted new food safety standards in California, standards that may serve as as a model for national reforms.
