For the past two decades, the California Supreme Court has been a model of racial and gender diversity. But it wasn't always that way. In 1982, Cruz Reynoso, the son of farmworkers, became the court's first Latino justice. Reynoso was later recalled by voters in a campaign aimed mostly at Chief Justice Rose Bird. His life is the subject of a new documentary by filmmaker Abby Ginzberg.
