Garage rock has been around since the 1960s, but there's a new 'garage-inspired' scene in San Francisco these days, with bands like Sic Alps, The Fresh and Onlys and Thee Oh Sees. The leader of Thee Oh Sees, John Dwyer, has covered a lot of musical ground since the late 1990s, but on his band's latest, he boils it all down to the rock basics.
