Students Protest Perceived Threats to Public Education
Public university students across the state yesterday protested against what they call the corporate greed of university administrators. The largest demonstration was at UC Berkeley, where students have established an "Occupy Cal" camp.

'Swirling' Students Bellwether for Community Colleges
More than 2.5 million students attend California's 112 community colleges -- and about 10 percent of those students attend more than one of them. It's a tactic called "swirling," and more students are having to resort to it in order to get enough required classes and credits to graduate.
