Democrats Vie for Party Endorsement at Convention
This weekend's state Democratic Convention in San Diego offered those running for the Legislature or Congress the chance to be officially endorsed Democrat in their race. And in a year where new election rules and newly drawn districts have created so much uncertainty, a party endorsement could prove a valuable asset.

UC Students File Challenge to Prop. 209
More than 15 years after voters approved Proposition 209, the state's ban on affirmative action is facing another legal challenge today. The argument is that black, Latino and Native American students are being shunted off to less prestigious UC campuses like Riverside and Merced.
