Across the state, teachers are bracing for the annual ritual of preliminary layoff notices. Districts are required to let teachers know by March 15 if there is a possibility of being laid off. Los Angeles Unified already knows it can rescind some of the notices it sent out -- but other districts are just beginning the process.
