At a mosque in Lakeside yesterday, east of San Diego, friends and family of a 32-year-old Iraqi immigrant honored her memory as they prepare to send her body back to her home country. Shaima Alawadi was beaten to death and a threatening note left beside her. Although police are still investigating, many locals in this -- one of the nation's largest Iraqi communities -- are in a state of shock.
