PG&E is in the midst of planning extensive seismic studies at its Diablo Canyon nuclear reactor. The utility must complete the studies in order to renew its license for the plant. But in light of the quake and tsunami damage to a nuclear plant in Japan, consumer advocates want to be sure the studies aren't just routine.
