Political campaigns tend to ignore the more than four in 10 Californians who are new voters or who turn out only occasionally. But a new coalition of progressive groups is bucking the conventional wisdom of targeting reliable electoral participants by putting those who infrequently cast ballots at the core of its strategy.
College Summer Programs Slashed
Many college students attend summer school to repeat a class, make up for lost time, or take care of that last unit required to get a degree. But thanks to budget cuts, those classes are increasingly out of reach, especially at the community college level.
