California Gets Modest Share of Agricultural Funding
This week the U.S. Senate is debating one of the nation's most controversial and extensive spending bills: the farm bill. It dictates funding for everything from crop subsidies to school lunches -- and California's share so far is a mixed bag.
Power Needs Water
The state's water managers rolled out a plan this week to reduce greenhouse gas emissions caused by moving water around the state. If that sounds odd, it turns out that moving and treating water takes a lot of electricity. But the reverse is also true -- generating power uses a lot of water.
