'Parent Trigger' Group Selects Charter to Take Over Elementary School
The only parent group to successfully engage the state's "Parent Trigger" law has voted to hand over control of Desert Trails Elementary to a local charter school group, after 18 months of battling the Adelanto Elementary School District and its teachers.

Foreclosures Lower Number of Likely Voters
Even in presidential election years, it's common for just over half of those who can vote to do so. Researchers have identified a number of contributing factors including youth, lack of income and lack of education. Now, they're adding another factor: the foreclosure crisis.
