California Foreclosures Fall 62 Percent
California's once-battered housing market continues to show signs of improvement. A new report from real estate tracking firm RealtyTrac says the number of California properties in some stage of foreclosure is down 62 percent. Still, inland areas suffer from the occasional surge in new foreclosures.

Immigration and border security are perennial issues in California. And some defense contractors and technology companies are looking at the Southwestern U.S. border as a new opportunity. At the moment, immigration reform seems to be on the back burner in Congress. But if it eventually passes, it will likely include billions of dollars for security and border technology.
