PETA is going to occupy the steakhouse today.

From Bay City News:

Members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals today plan to lie nearly naked on large trays outside of a steakhouse in San Francisco's Financial District to protest the eating of meat.

The PETA protesters will be wrapped in cellophane to mimic typical meat packages to demonstrate that all animals, including humans, are made of flesh, blood and bone.

PETA spokesman Adam Miller said the event has been replicated nationwide as part of the organization's ongoing campaign to encourage people to become vegans.

"It's an eye-catching demonstration that gets the message across really well," Miller said.

The group today is targeting Bob's Steak and Chop House, which Miller said was targeted because "it's a popular lunch spot that emphasizes a meat menu."

The protest is planned for noon outside the restaurant, located at 500 California St.

A manager at the restaurant this morning declined to comment on the planned demonstration.
