Pelosi Joins Fight to Save CCSF as Enrollment Continues to Drop
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi made a personal appearance at City College of San Francisco on Monday to show her support for an institution she says is being unfairly punished by the Western Regional branch of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. To add to the college's troubles, it looks like students are staying away in droves.

For more than a decade, California educators have been trying to close the achievement gap between Latinos and their white and Asian classmates. Latinos do worse on standardized tests and are less likely to go to college. But new statistics show the gap isn't just a product of poor neighborhoods and low-performing schools. It's also found in public schools with the best reputations.
