No Deal Yet for California Students in Sell-off by Corinthian Colleges
Corinthian Colleges, the for-profit college operator from Orange County, is collapsing under the weight of a crackdown by federal and state regulators, along with numerous lawsuits. Last week, Corinthian announced a deal to sell off its schools in other parts of the country. That leaves an uncertain future for roughly 20,000 students in California.

California Gets a New Supreme Court Justice
Once again, Gov. Jerry Brown has defied conventional wisdom with his choice for the California Supreme Court. On Monday, Brown named 38-year-old attorney Leondra Kruger, a top attorney in the Obama administration's Justice Department, to replace retired Justice Joyce Kennard.
