State Senator Hopes California Will Begin Regulation of Drones
These days, you can see everybody from photographers to farmers and hobbyists flying drones. Yesterday, the Federal Aviation Administration released a proposal on how to regulate some drones. The public has 60 days to weigh in on those rules. Here in California, State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson of Santa Barbara is convening a hearing on the subject tomorrow and she hopes to establish drone regulations in the state.
Leaders of Jehovah's Witnesses Keep Lid on Child Sex Abuse Claims
The Center for Investigative Reporting's new radio program "Reveal" has unearthed a dark side to the Jehovah's Witnesses, which has about 8 million members worldwide. We talk with Reveal reporter Trey Bundy. His story focuses on a man named Jonathan Kendrick, who remained an active member of congregations in two Bay Area cities despite the fact that the organization's leaders knew about his past act of sexual abuse. The organization remained silent when those acts continued.
