GOP Assemblyman Rocky Chavez Joins Race for Senate Seat
There's a new candidate in the closely watched race for the U.S. Senate in 2016. Chavez is a Republican who will run for the seat being vacated by Barbara Boxer. State Attorney General Kamala Harris has also announced she will run for the seat.

State Officials Move to Regulate Oil Wastewater Wells
When you think of oil producing states, you think Texas or maybe North Dakota. But California is just behind those states when it comes to producing oil. That industry is coming under scrutiny lately because of the way it disposes of its wastewater. Earlier this week, California ordered oil companies to shut down 12 wells that pumped wastewater from drilling into aquifers that were supposed to be protected.
