L.A. County Supervisors Next to Take Up Minimum Wage Boost
Over the weekend Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti signed that city's new minimum wage law. It will push a worker's hourly wage to $15 an hour over the next 5 years. Now L.A. County is thinking about an identical pay hike for workers in unincorporated areas. Supervisor Sheila Kuehl introduced the measure on Tuesday.

Overhauled Medical Admissions Test Tackles How Race, Class Affect Health
Medical school hopefuls are starting to get their scores back from the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) this week. These are the first students to take the MCAT since it's been completely overhauled. The test now includes a whole new section on psychology and sociology. Test takers now have to answer questions on how race and class affect health.
