Rocky Fire Leaps Over Highway 20 Containment
Firefighters' efforts to contain the Rocky Fire in Lake County have taken a turn for the worse. The state's largest blaze jumped over Highway 20 Monday, which firefighters had hoped would contain the fire. The fire now covers 100 square miles, roughly the size of Sacramento, and is still only 12 percent contained.
For First Time, City Appoints Undocumented Immigrants to Commission Seats
The city of Huntington Park, just south of downtown Los Angeles, filled two vacant commission seats Monday night, both with undocumented immigrants. City officials say it's the first California city to do so. Twenty-nine-year-old Francisco Medina will serve on the city's health and education commission. He's been living in the U.S. for over a decade. And 21-year-old Julian Zatarain was appointed to a Parks and Rec seat. He came to the U.S. in 2007.

If you ask doctors about racial bias, most will say they treat every patient equally. But research suggests they may be influenced by biases that they don't realize they have. One medical school is teaching students to confront their own unconscious bias, and better serve their patients of color.
