Tens of thousands of former felons will be given the right to vote, after the state announced Tuesday that it won't appeal a court decision giving former offenders the right to do so.

Firefighters From Around State Deployed to Contain Rocky Fire
The Rocky Fire, still blazing in Lake County north of San Francisco, is currently 20 percent contained. Firefighters say they're making progress, thanks in part to a little rain Tuesday and the fact that firefighters and equipment have been brought in from across the state. There are now about 3,500 firefighters fighting the blaze.

With Diablo Canyon License Up for Renewal, Regulators Meet With Neighbors
Federal regulators are holding a meeting Wednesday in San Luis Obispo to hear from people who live next to California's last remaining nuclear power plant. Perched on an ocean bluff just north of Pismo Beach, Diablo Canyon started operating in 1985. It supplied nearly 6 percent of the state's electricity last year. Now the plant's license is up for renewal. The meeting is the first step in a lengthy process that could take years.
