This November, large polluters under California's cap-and-trade program will disclose more information about how they're reducing greenhouse gas emissions, or are accounting for their emissions. One way to comply is by paying for other projects to reduce emissions. These offset projects can be anything from forests to animal farms, and not always where you'd expect to find them.
