Valley Fire Triggers Memories of Vietnam Trauma for Evacuated Veteran
Many people evacuated from the Valley Fire have returned home. For some, the trauma of escaping the fire itself is still fresh. Especially for vets who fought in Vietnam and who've struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The sights and sounds of the Valley Fire were reminiscent of burning napalm and exploding grenades. As part of our series Vital Signs, we met up with Vietnam vet Jack Reece at the Napa County Fairgrounds evacuation site. Reece described watching the fire before he fled his home in Hidden Valley.
