How California Industries Could Fare Under New Pacific Trade Deal
A host of industries stand to reap big rewards from a trade pact reached this week by the U.S., Japan and 10 other Pacific Rim countries. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) aims to lower trade barriers and loosen intellectual property laws. It also promises tougher labor standards, among other things. The pact still needs the endorsement of Congress before it takes effect. So what could the TPP mean for California business and its workers? We talk with KPCC business reporter Ben Bergman.
