Brown: Calif. Will Fight Lawsuits Against Federal Climate Regulations
Gov. Jerry Brown says the state's economic health depends on its ability to deal with global warming. The governor was in San Diego Tuesday, addressing a gathering of researchers on ways to lighten society's carbon footprint. He told the LA Times that California will fight lawsuits against federal environmental regulations as an interested party.

On any given night in downtown L.A.'s Skid Row, a few thousand people sleep on the streets or in shelters. But a lot of those people have no ties to Los Angeles. They come from communities across region, suburbs and cities that often lack the resources and the will to aid their own homeless.
